Jenni Rivera: Why she kicked ass
- Singer, songwriter, actress, television producer, and entrepreneur woman of color.
- Advocate of social issues, her songs always revolved around women’s rights for women of color.
- Represented the Latina/Hispanic women population in the United States.
- Was pregnant at 15, and showed that that’s no obstacle in fact it made her stronger, and sold CD’s at flea markets to sustain herself and her child.
- Earned her GED as she continued her high school career and graduated as valedictorian.
- Earned her college degree in business administration.
- Jenni had gone through too much shit, beginning with her husband raping her daughter, nonetheless that didn’t stop her or bring her down, in fact it filled her up with so much anger that she became the spokeswoman for the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
- August 6 is national Jenni Rivera day for all her charity work and involvement in her community.
- Through her music and career Jenni was also an advocate for body positivity, as she was one of the few curvy women in the media, she made sure to show everyone that curves are nothing to be afraid of.
